IRB-325 w/Hood
The IRB-325 complies with UL 325 standard. For use where UL325 compliance is mandated. Also for use in OSHA situations where employees perform work on premises (even at residences) such as pool personnel, lawn care personnel, remodeling & construction personnel, housekeepers, caretakers, etc. Available from DADS, the IRB-325 photocell is used as an external entrapment protection device type B1 non-contact sensor for use with automatic gate operators.  The IRB-325 transmitter and receiver are mounted in line of sight at a distance of up to 65 feet. When the infrared beam is broken the IRB-325 produces detection signal. Range:  6 to 65 feet  Power:  12V to 24V DC or AC l5O mA. Not suitable for solar or transformer operation due to power draw. Fail “Safe” hookup. Use optional transformer when connecting to low voltage operators. Additional mounting materials may be needed dependent upon installation.

BEAMS & EDGES An Overview For The Beginner

BEAMS - Beams, when interrupted sense objects. Beams are frequently used in an attempt to provide additional protection from moving gates as they will detect humans and animals where loops will not. Unfortunately, because of the narrowness of the beam, they are not a perfect solution and can leave some areas unprotected. Slide gates due to their in-line travel are probably easier to provide protection for. Swing gates on the other hand cover a lot of ground while “plowing” across their path. No beam can provide 100% coverage and should be used in conjunction with other devices.

EDGES - Edges, upon normal contact, cause an electrical connection to reverse and/or stop moving gates. Slide gates due to their in-line travel are probably easier to provide protection for. Swing gates on the other hand cover a lot of ground while “plowing” across their path and require edges on the inside, outside and at any pinch-points.

Statements, diagrams and tips authored by D.A.D.S., Inc. and contained in this box are not guaranteed to be safe and/or accurate for every application. Refer to the gate operator manufacturer’s installation instructions for complete safety and installation information. Humans and vehicles may require different protection devices.

Invisi-Guard Through Beam Photo Eye with Battery Powered Emitter
Invisi-Guard™ thru-beam photoelectric sensor is intended to detect the presence of an obstacle when the infrared light beam is interrupted.

Suggested applications include motorized doors and gates where an interruption would signal the motor to reverse; toll booths and parking lots where an interruption would cause a signal to change.

The system includes two independently housed units: a battery powered infrared emitter and a receiver that wires directly to your controls.

The battery powered emitter saves time and money by eliminating the need to saw concrete or run wire across the opening. The built-in audible low battery alarm alerts users when it is time to replace batteries.
